South Florida — particularly Broward County communities like Davie, Southwest Ranches, and Wellington — is home to one of the densest concentrations of horse farms in the eastern United States. These beautiful properties generate a constant byproduct: horse manure. Lots of it.
For farm owners, manure disposal is a significant expense and logistical headache. Many pay $500 or more per month for waste removal services. Meanwhile, just a few miles away, homeowners and gardeners struggle with South Florida's notoriously sandy, nutrient-poor soil, spending premium prices on commercial fertilizers.
ManureStartup was born from this disconnect. We saw an opportunity to solve two problems at once: help farms eliminate their waste disposal costs while providing gardeners with the best organic fertilizer nature has to offer — at a price that makes synthetic alternatives look absurd.
Today, we partner with farms and ranches across South Florida, removing their manure for free. We professionally compost it into rich, safe, nutrient-dense fertilizer and sell it for just $5 per 40-50lb bag. It's simple, sustainable, and it works.
